Traildust Theropod Quarry Half Day Dig

May 22, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Traildust Theropod Quarry Half Day Dig

May 22

This ancient river bed holds the King of the Jurassic – Allosaurus, just three miles from the museum in the Fruita Paleontological Area. This quarry is for the intermediate-level expeditioner, as you will chisel through crumbling sandstones to excavate the bones of a top predator: Allosaurus. Tools, instructions and paleontologist guides will help you every step of the way. A short hike from the parking lot to the quarry is involved, it is steep in places. Participants should expect to be outside, in the heat and bugs, working on open, rocky ground. We will provide some water and snacks. There are steep ledges at the quarry, please follow crew instructions for a safe and exciting dig experience.

Please download and return the 2019 Digs Registration-Medical Forms.

Minimum age: 12 • Ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.

$65 per participant
