Here are a few photos of our digs up in South Dakota this past summer! We have ben working in the Hell Creek Formation of Butte, Meade and Perkins County mostly. The Hell Creek is Latest Cretaceous in age… 66 mya. Worked on multiple new vertebrate sites, recovered another 300+ bones from our main Tooth Draw Quarry, finished my strat sections, found another Triceratops skeleton, and met over 300 some guests from all over the US and the world. Hope you like the pics!

@walter-stein, great field photos, thanks for sharing! What was the best find of the summer?

The biggest and best find of the summer was the new Triceratops skeleton. The most scientifically important find was an Alvarezsaurid claw from the Hell Creek. Alvarezsaurids are not supposed to be in the Hell Creek, so that is likely to be an undescribed, new genus and species.
