Stigmaria Ficoides?
@charles-du Yes! Stigmaria. Another one of those morphogenera where each organ gets ots own name. This name applies to the roots of scale trees (Lepidodendron).
The molars are in the bottom right corner, going up into the jaw on picture 3. Jaw may be upside down. I think man man tooled the pattern you see.
Just take a closer look at the “holes”
@Troy-glasgow Jaw?….
🤣
@machenzie-smith thank you for the clarification. So Sigillaria is a type of Lepidodendron so they have the same roots correct?
@charles-du Yes. To my knowledge, both Lepidodendron and Sigillaria have Stigmaria type roots. Both are scale trees and lycopods with Lepidodendron having rhomboid leaf scars and Sigillaria having hexagonal leaf scars.
