Plastic comb or artifact? Found on the beach in Williamsburg, VA.
The thin parts bend like plastic but the spine of it is solid.
The first pic. Made me think comb but now I see it’s quite small?? Interesting 🤔
might be an old comb made from jet. Jet often feels plasticky, though I don’t know if that is how it would weather. You cold test it with a hot pin, jet will smell like coal and might smoke. The pin will not go in easily. If you have a streak plate (unglazed tile) it will streak brown. If it smells rubbery or sulfury, and/or the streak is powdery brown it is likely vulcanite. Horn is also a possibility, smells like hair when you pin test, and might streak gray. Of course if it’s plastic-plastic you will know right away.
