Wow! That’s incredible!!
That’s actually a fossil, and not a recently dead fish?
He would not have that many color if it was a fossil, sorry but that is not fossilized, cool find anyway
Amazing it it solid stone ?
I assure you this is not a recent fish, as far as the color .Maybe a first, . I would never make up any kind of story Obviously testing will be needed ,I’m very excited to have the fish authenticated. I have not been able to find another one like it. I should be hearing from Perot Museum soon.
Would definitely appreciate an update on this find as things move along.
I will update as soon as more info/test results,etc
That is a dried up dead fish 😐
It’s impossible for it to look like that.
Can you post the rock it came out of? And yes pls update us! This is fascinating
@bill-heim
@a-trilobite
not dried up , more like mummified, and you credentials are?
I knew I should have waited to share this amazing discovery, I’m not going to be commenting or participate in negative atmosphere.. I will post updated information when I get it. surprised no I’d on name of fish?
extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. I am not saying that whether this is or is not a fossil at this point. Is the material it came out of rock, clay or dried up mud? What is the location? What is the geologic formation it came out of? What other plant or animal material is found in the matrix? Photos of the immediate location and surroundings is important.
Trying doing a Google image search to try & ID the type of fish
I have , several times , different lighting, angle, etc . no luck. but learning more about fish .
Bill, came from common white sedimentarry rock, The area is surrounded on both sides by rock cliffs about 40 ft top to the creek. I have collected other marine fossil’s mostly what I believe are called cast fossils there are quite a few small skeletal fossils I’ll be posting some of these tonight and tomorrow morning note there are also some biological items pertaining to the cliff RockI. also water purity.I have photographed these subjects .documented it’ w/ sample
thank you
@donald-bechtel I did a search to & came back w Tilapia each time..? 😬 But then again.. I don’t have different pics, angles, & lighting.. please keep us posted! I’m interested 🙂
