Ariel Brooks-Ashcraft has contributed specimen mFeM 129523 to myFOSSIL!

    • That’s what I’d say it is too! Cool find and your others too!!

    • Thank you.

    • Nice find @ariel-brooks-ashcraft! We’d love to add this to our research database. Here are the steps:
      1) Fill in the location tab as specifically as you are comfortable with
      2) Use the app Rockd (or website version, though it’s a littl clunkier) to figure out what formation/group it comes from. I have a feeling it will be Gravel Point Formation of the Traverse Group. This information goes into the lithostratigraphy section.
      3) The app should also give you the age, which you can put into the geochronology section. If it is Gravel Point formation, you will put in Devonian Period. Use the Geochronology wizard to autofill the higher fields, or manually type them in (should be Paleozoic era and Phanerozoic eon).
      4) Put in Classification using the taxon wizard, you should be able to search Favosites (the scientific name for Honeycomb coral) and it will fill the fields in automatically.
      5) Tag me if you have any questions or finish!
