1 year, 7 months ago1 year, 7 months agoFound in the “front” section of the neighborhood I live that had a boom of new house construction. I have a few that look similar but found in different places. Some are just on the side of the country road that leads to the back side (where I live) of the neighborhood. This is in Georgetown, TX.
Rock Unit Name: Keys Valley Marl
Rock Unit Code: Kkv
Sheet name: Austin
Period: Cretaceous
Epoch or Series: Comanchean
Group: Fredericksburg Group
Geo-order number: 9766This is the last (although I have more angles) photo of this clump. lol
This is a lovely piece of limestone, unfortunately I don’t see any fossils in it. Ammonites are not an uncommon fossil in your area, keep an eye out for spiral-shaped shells.
This clump is part of the other blob I posted with the devil’s toenail and internal mold of the oyster. It’s all one clump. But I didn’t think this side was much of anything.
Oh, and I have ammonite pieces in at least three or so storage bins, just not a complete one. I have my big half piece that covers my arm from my elbow to about the tips of my fingers. lol!!
