    Agatized fossil of some sort? Found near Rapid City SD

      This seems to be a geological specimen of some sort, perhaps a completely filled in vug, banded flint, or liesegang rings.

      Look at bubblegum agate. I wouldn’t call this exemplary of it, but I think it’s a good match. If you are in Rapid City the university (? been a few years) museum has nice examples of agates and other minerals, and possibly people who can identify for you.

      It’s a great museum! I went to South Dakota School of Mines & Technology for three semesters before I finally decided to drop out.
