Hello, everyone! This is my fifth year teaching and I currently teach 6th grade science (general & advanced) at Conniston Middle School in West Palm Beach, FL. I also co-coordinate the school science fair and co-lead a STEM club for sixth grade girls. I have always enjoyed science, especially rocks and animals. My two kids (Faye, 4 and James, 2) also are very into science and I encourage that everyday. Faye even has a giant rock collection including fossils and geodes! I enjoy spending my time outdoors in nature or reading/watching science based media (David Attenborough is amazing).

My main interest in the GABI is the connection between the geosphere and biosphere. My goal is to create a lesson to show how these two influence each other to affect evolution and the variety of life and nature we have around us from the past to the present. I am also interested in students exploring how this information can help us predict what the world will look like in the future.

I’m excited to add to my professional network of teachers and science professionals and am looking forward to working with all of you!

    • Thanks for joining us Melissa! I am interested to see how your lesson takes form! I have a strong interest in conservation and paleontology can be a useful tool in helping us predict what can happen in the future! Paleoconservation is a new hot topic!
