    Paleo selfie! Here I am, in the field… if you consider the parking lot of a motel “in the field”. I got a lead from the book “101 American Fossil Sites You’ve Gotta See” that there were graptolites here, and it turns out there were a few. Check out my fossils for pics! Fossils can pop up in the most everyday of places.

      Someone recommended to us that “101 American Fossil Sites You’ve Got to See” book, but we haven’t had a chance to check it out. Is it a good read?

      Yeah, it’s pretty cool. The author covers not only well-known and spectacular sites, but also random, small sites like this one. I got a couple of other good leads besides this one, so it was worth it for me. 😁
