5 years, 6 months ago5 years, 6 months agoI am looking for help finding teeth of prehistoric animals for my lesson. I presently have megaladon, parahippus, and sabertooth. I’d like to add 1-3 more. I was looking for a rodent tooth possibly. I’d like to find an animal that may have eaten nuts perhaps. I would also like to print the items to scale, so super large teeth will not work for me at the moment.
I’m working with 1st graders, so I’d like to find some teeth that are a little more obvious in their features. The kids will have picture cards of the foods to try to match the teeth to. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Here are some jaw and tooth options:
• Metridiochoerus andrewsi, extinct African pig upper tooth, available on African Fossils: https://africanfossils.org/fauna/knmer-63244?o=1
• Ekembo nyanzae, extinct primate mandible, available on African Fossils: https://africanfossils.org/hominids/knmru-2087?o=1
• Loxodonta africana, elephant relative, available on African Fossils: https://africanfossils.org/fauna/om-9040?o=1
• Viverra indet, extinct carnivoran skull, available on African Fossils: https://africanfossils.org/fauna/knmer-5339?o=1
• Indet indet, extinct antelope relative jaw, available on African Fossils: https://africanfossils.org/fauna/knmer-61869?o=1
Thanks, Maggie!
