Good evening everyone!Tell me, please, what is this fossil? If you look from below, you will see the suckers characteristic of octopus, starfish. At the top, this pattern is covered with tentacles resembling plants.Tentacles come from below. You see the top of the photo.Found this object near the river, among the marls. #fossil

    • To a couple of us in the lab it looks like those circles have septa in it and we are leaning towards coral. Can you tell us where you found it (country, province/state, city)? This helps narrow it down.

    • Hello! Thanks for the help! We found it in Russia, in the city of Kursk. Searches were conducted in an abandoned career of marl. This location is not indicated on the map as a fossil location. It was just an amateur trip. But we went there more than once and found many fossils there. Some of them look like sea urchins, others, most likely, bryozoans. If you want, I can send you photos from all sides.

    • I was thinking that what it could also be would be an stromatolite but this could graitely variate depending on the geologyc period of the layer where the fossil was found
