Very nice specimens! Do you have another image with a scale bar? How are you taking these high resolution images?
Talk to you soon, Jen
Hi Jen
Glad you like them. These ostracods are all about 1mm wide. The species is not found in GSA Memoir 86
I have a low power microscope with a 10 megapixel camera, both from Amscope. I believe I used 40x. I also use Zerene stacking software to get the entire specimen in focus.
The specimens were placed on a very clean sheet of glass elevated from the base, I directed the LED lights at the specimens and allowed the background to remain dark.
The specimens are from Locality 2 Strasburg Va, Edinburg Fomation (Ordovician) and etched from the rock with dilute hydrochloric acid.

That’s excellent! Ostracods, in my experience, can be very difficult to identify and there are not many Paleozoic ostracod workers – I can only think of Larry Knox off the top of my head.
