Justin Tweet has contributed specimen mFeM 50717 to myFOSSIL!

    • Hi, @justin-tweet – we are working on a new filtering method and to best situate the trace fossils we are suggesting users include Ichnofossil as the Phylum so that we can more easily group these interesting fossils together. We also have a new entry field where you can add in any field notes, who collected the specimen, and who identified it. If you are interested in filling in any additional information.

      Talk to you soon,
      Jen

      • Okay, have done!

        • Excellent, thank you! We are migrating specimens with high quality data to the iDigBio database so information from users personal collections can be included in large scale research questions. If I mark your specimen to be sent to iDigBio, can I include a comment in the field notes that if someone was interested in the locality information they could message you through myFOSSIL?

    • Hi, @Justin-Tweet, are there burrows on the other side? If so, can you please photograph them and update this specimen?

    • The flip side of this piece is unfortunately pretty featureless, because there’s a couple of cm of rock beneath the fossil. I have one where the supporting rock is much thinner, but even on that one the underside of the burrow complex is not visible, just a layer of Decorah hash.
