4 years, 11 months ago4 years, 11 months agoAnother great fossil from the Wyoming Dinosaur Center was this huge crinoid, Seirocrinus subangularis! From the accompanying plaque: ‘Seirocrinus distinguishes itself from others in the crinoid family by its tendency to anchor on floating debris and by following ocean currents instead of attaching to the sea floor. This specimen above is anchored to a piece of driftwood which would have supported the crinoid until the log lost all buoyancy and sank to the bottom of the ocean.’ #fossil
