This is in the Hamilton Group, correct? https://macrostrat.org/sift/#/strat_name_concept/2855
Here is one coral paper I found but it doesn’t have many images to help with ID:
https://www.jstor.org/stable/pdf/1304687.pdf?refreqid=excelsior%3A5fda29e7e2ce1f0fe93b9e22ffbd6805
Let me know if it turns paywall-y for you and I can email it to you as a pdf. I couldn’t find too much else specifically on the corals but maybe that paper is at least a good starting point for narrowing down the classification.
Talk to you soon,
Jen
edit:
I forgot @jayson-kowinsky has a Devonian of NY page: https://www.fossilguy.com/sites/18mile/18_col.htm#corals
@jbauer Too cool! Thanks for the links, I think they’ll be really helpful. Fossil Guy didn’t have much on horn corals, but I think that page will be helpful for identifying other fossils at that site, especially the brachs.
Definitely! Jayson has awesome photos. He mentions too common horn coral species – Heliophyllum halli & Stereolasma rectum, so a good starting place for further research!
@jbauer Yeah, now that you mention it, Stereolasma looks a lot like the horn corals I found there. Thanks!
