How were you able to identify this down to the species level? Is it restricted to this area/zone? Not sure myself so interested to learn!

I saw that Fossil Guy lists the trilobites that you can expect to find in this location:
https://www.fossilguy.com/sites/18mile/18_col.htm#phacops
From those, I think this one looks most like Eldredgeops milleri because it has the big glabella and eyes on the side. But the page is a little confusing, because I’m not sure if I can really say it’s a milleri or a rana. So I think I should probably leave the species blank, right?
Some light googling suggests that it used to be a subspecies and is maybe now it’s own species. I’d have to dig into the literature to see if we can pick them apart. The Wiki page has some references listed at the bottom: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eldredgeops – maybe Hansen 2009 would know?
Otherwise, yes, I would leave the species blank until we can confirm one way or another.
I found this interesting post over at the FossilForum:

It seems like the differences are extremely slight and have to do with the number of eye files and the maximum number of “lenes”, whatever that is. I’ll have to dig around to see if I can find out. Thanks again for your help!
