      Here are a list of some of the Trachycardium species found in the SE: https://neogeneatlas.net/genera/Trachycardium/

      If you click the “All Species” at the top you can scroll through all the different species for each major group. This specimen looks a bit squat compared to these other species, that certainly doesn’t mean the ID is incorrect but just wanted you to have this other information!

      • I think I used the book Florida’s Fossils by Robin C. Brown for this ID. It looks like I’ll have to rethink this, though. I’m not sure if the fossil is in good enough shape for a positive ID. Thanks!

        • That’s a fair point too! I really like the Neogene Atlas – it can be a great resource for at least getting to the generic classification! I’ve learned a lot about Cenozoic mollusks just by searching around on there.
