@johnathan-vonallmen – This specimen is so cute!! Is there any detail on the underside of the fossil?
Sadly, there are no details on the bottom. There is a flat brown thin layer of rock different than the matrix on the bottom (a piece of Isotelus ?) but there is no trilobite visible on the bottom.
Also, what is the identifier section? And is there a good resource where you could find what group a formation is part of?
Hi @johnathan-vonallmen! The identifier section is not a required section for a specimen to be considered research grade, but it basically refers to whoever identified the fossil – in this case, I think it would be you. In terms of resources, https://macrostrat.org/map/#/z=1.5/x=16/y=23/bedrock/lines/ is the best! You can search for the location you found the fossil in and find out what formation it is in. Super useful! Let me know if these work out for you.
