      Cephalopod, and that’s about as close as I can come because I am not an expert lol!

        Thanks @gloria-carr! It’s possible, but I still have a strange feeling I collected this specimen in the Hell Creek Formation. The matrix it is composed ofwhat looks like the freshwater shale strata of the HCF. But, it could be Pierre Shale. My only reason for stating this is because I stored it in a box with a few Xiphactinus vertebrae from the Pierre Shale. The remaining fossils were HCF.
