Genus Turritella. If I had to guess, that looks like Turritella andersoni lawsoni Dickerson, 1916, which is very common in the Llajas Formation.
I’m sorry but what is the Llajas formation?
A geologic formation is a basic unit of rock that can be correlated with a specific time period and environment. The age of the Llajas Formation is approximately 47-50 million years old, from the Eocene Epoch.
Woah that’s nuts! Do u think I’d be able to find more where I found this one?
Sure. However, there are other formations in that general area, which makes it very important to collect good location data, especially GPS coordinates. MyFossil has a series of short videos on YouTube, I recommend you start with the one on lithostratigraphy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEDT5xrSifI
Ok thank u!
