Hi, @tony-gascoigne-bates! Do you know where this was found? Also, a scale bar would be useful!
hi. I found this in Greece. on a little island called Kalymnos in the Dodecanese.
you can see that there is another just up to the right I believe but not as pronounced
Wow… so… I just found a tiny bluish stone I was going to post on here with nearly the same markings but found in Nampa Idaho. How can I share without having to add all of my info. I do not everything about the stone. I f dad imply found it! Lol!
Hi @tony-gascoigne-bates – it looks like the cross section of a shelly.
I’m not familiar with the geology of Greece, so am not sure I can narrow it down from there. It could be a brachiopod or a bivalve depending on age and environment.
is there a way of extracting the fossil from the rock? would be interested to see more of it
