@bill-heim and @vperez can help with ID!
Hi @susan-white, these are both teeth from the Great White Shark, Carcharodon carcharias. 1) upper anterior tooth and 2) lower anterior tooth. @rboessenecker @lcone do either of you know what age / formation teeth from the Isle of Palms would be?
Thank y’all so much. I’ve learned so much on your site
Nice teeth Susan, and very nice to have both an upper and lower. Finding it on Isle of Palms, it is likely transported down the Cooper, or washed up from off shore. I would guess the age could range anywhere from maybe 4 Ma. through Pleistocene.
Found several very similar to these. Very interesting that they’d come from the Cooper River. We had a beach renourishment about 3 years ago,and I’ve been VERY fortunate to find a variety of really nice teeth and fossils. Thank you so much.
