What is it? from the myFOSSIL app 3 years, 9 months ago 3 years, 9 months ago3 years, 9 months agoMy son and I Hiking atop Mt Potosi just west of Las Vegas… came across these vertebrae. Wondering what it might be. Decent sized animal maybe a big coyote or burrow or Triceratops #fossil
Apparently my boy (who’s 9) has a newly found passion for digging and finding artifacts. I’m hoping someone can tell him something fascinating about these bones to develop his appreciation for the great outdoors 🙏🏼
These are modern bones and not fossils
If your son is into fossils there are trilobite areas in Nevada, or if you can make the drive to Utah the U dig trilobite quarry is a guaranteed success. There are a few other stops near there for corals and other marine fossils as well.
