Hi @Jacob-Beasecker, this appears to be horn coral. Could you update the taxonomy?
Hi @samantha-ocon, horn corals fall under the subclass Rugosa (according to PBDB), so the taxonomy cannot be updated unless you can narrow it down to an order.
Hi, @jacob-beasecker and @Vperez, I am sorry for being unclear here. I will attach some resources for you, Jacob, that may help with identification. http://michiganbasinfossils.org/ might be useful for comparisons, https://www.digitalatlasofancientlife.org/learn/cnidaria/anthozoa/rugosa/ will have some comparative specimens, as well as anatomical information, and I would recommend http://fossilworks.org/bridge.pl?a=collectionSearchForm&type=view as a way to look for other rugose coral species that have been found in the area. Again, sorry for the confusion.
Additionally, identifying corals can be difficult, and I will work with you if you have further issues, but there may be a point where we may not be able to get any more specific, as I am not a coral specialist myself.
Thank you!
