I found these three rocks within a mile of each other near an area where the Snake Indians lived. All at separate times and different days. They are all made of a different type of stone and the one on the right was actually encased in a hard shell of rock that appeared to be of a hard iron substance fro thousands of years ago. Maybe even millions? The one in the center does not seem as old it’s the first one I found and the one one left appears to be maybe a few hundred years old?? From what I read about the area not only did Louis and Clark stay in this area with the Snake Indians but they also believed to have found a 2 million year old clay doll somewhere near there. What are they? They are all shaped the same!!! #collectionsite

    • a 2 million year old doll? sounds unlikely. humans have only existed for the last 0.2 million years. very interesting rocks though, from an interesting location. l can’t tell what mineral they’re made of.

    • Humans have only existed in North America for the last 30,000 to 40,000 years (the oldest finds were recently found in Mexico and were dated to 30,000 years ago). 2 million years ago marks the boundary between Homo habilis and Homo erectus neither of which had left Africa at the time. At this stage, tools consisted mostly of bashing things with rocks. They were incapable of making simple tools much less dolls. These 3 items are various types of rock. The center and right stones (in the image) are basalt. The other would need a close up examination to determine what type of stone it is. None of these are fossils.
