@leonardo-miranda it doesnt seem like ammonite, it has really different spiral
It could be a foraminiferan due to the small size, tight coils and lack of evidence of sutures. Interestingly, the direction of coiling is indicative of climate: https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/fosrec/Olson2.html
@patrick-hsieh thanks, its called planispiral. Are those CREATURES or some kind of plants?
When I grew up and they taught us the classic 5 kingdoms of life, they would be classified as a protist. That may be overly simplistic and probably does not reflect the evolutionary relationships based on modern taxonomy.
@patrick-hsieh l agree that there is a large amount of argument over the number and correct classification of kingdoms. even today l am taught in school about the 5 basic kingdoms, despite my disagreement on this, and my belief in the 28 kingdom theory
@leonardo-miranda what is the 28 kingdom theory? I can’t seem to find info about it on the internet.
@daniel-park as you probably know, there is a lot of disagreement over how many valid kingdoms there are. we’ve come a long way from the times when things were either plants or animals. one theory suggests the following kingdoms, and to accomodate them, has created a new taxon called the domain, the only level of classification higher than the kingdom.
Domain Archea: 3 kingdoms in here. Domain Bacteria: 10 kingdoms in here. Domain Eukarya: 15 kingdoms (animals; plants; fungi; red algae; brown algae; and the protists, which actually consist of 10 individual kingdoms)
