Ray Troll’s “North Pacific Cretaceous Marine Life”
@leonardo-miranda might recognize some of these.
some heteromorph ammonites including the paperclip one, a vamyroteuthid, elasmosaurs, a mosasaur, a regular ammonite, and a shark resembling a sand tiger l think. loving the art!
@leonardo-miranda Solid! I’ll add a the full image and a couple more.
I adore that spirally ammonite.
l forgot the name of the pointed snout fish though. looks like an oversized Aspidorhynchus sort of.
@smudge-smith I believe that’s Didymoceras, which is the subject of another piece of Troll’s work I posted. Probably, better seen on my fossil website than app.
@leonardo-miranda I think it’s Protosphyraena, which is another subject of another piece of artwork by Troll.
Is the squid a vampire squid?
l enjoy the colourful chaotic quality of these. and very boldly illustrated
That’s one of the things I love and about Troll’s style. Psychedelic meets scientific lol.
