Bone not fossil
I thought so but the coloring was very deceptive. Thank you
Color isn’t a very reliable way to age bone. Wish it could be.
it’s probably not too recent as the colour is darker and I can see it has been eroded a little on the edge
As stated in the other comments, color can be deceptive when it comes to bones @victoria-fowler! Another way to test them is by weight! As bones mineralize (or fossilize) they become heavier. If you have tile or concrete floors, gently dropping them on it creates a pinging noise that is quite distinctive in fossils! Hope this helps!
