Looks like part of a fish
It would be helpful if you could tell us where you found it, and the background of the place (like what the layers or layer dates back too e.g. Devonian, Jurassic, Eocene, and the rest)?
In an open pit Family’s land that was Dug years ago Williams County North Dakota same area where I found two fossilized sea turtles
Looks like a stingray dental plate but I have never seen one in which the material was indistinguishable from the encasing stone.
maybe a stingray dental plate?
orthocone shell?
or a segmented invertebrate?
or probably just a stingray plate.
