A tiny winged creature? Has feathers. I’ve been slowly brushing it for months. Came from a metamorphic rock I think its a tar layer? #fossil

    • Metamorphic rocks (rocks that have been changed under heat and pressure) seldom have fossils because they are subjected to heat and pressure. There are exceptions particularly in slate having to do with hard shelled animals like trilobites. Soft tissues would not survive. Hate to say it but this appears to be just a rock with a harder section that resisted weathering.

    • okay

    • Metamorphic rocks rarely, seldom have fossils correct. However it is possible if there is a parrafin or tar deposit layer. There is clearly something there I ask please look again and ill post more photos.

    • Greetings @jacki-lorenz ! This appears to erosion and weathering on a rock.

    • this just appears to be distortion or weathering of the rock, sorry
