That *may* be a fly, order Diptera, but a closer picture would be very helpful. You can buy macro lenses for your cell phone for under $20, and they work surprisingly well.

Thank you @patrick-hsieh! I can confirm it’s a fly, didn’t know the taxonomy though. And thanks for the suggestion of a macro lens, I need to work on my photography, but that’ll certainly help. I’ll look into it!
