Found this back in March down in Hill head which has an Eocene and Pleistocene history, but no recorded Cretaceous formations. Although, the solent is quite a large body of water and is connected to the English Channel and across the water is the Isle of Wight, but the Cretaceous or Wessex formations are at the south of the island. Footprints can still form even though bone may lot be present.

Across the water still on the mainland there was a theropod footprint that was found at Lepe beach
The place the larger footprint was found is in a similar environment I found mine
I think I figured it out-if what you say about the eocene/pleistocene is true, then what you found is a footprint of a three-toed horse, which were small (pony sized). So far there’s been two eocene era horse species found on the Isle of Wight, Hyopotamus Vectianus and Hyopotamus Bovinus. Although, no foot remains were found of either (mabey you have the first?)

But, Ornithopod have also been discovered on the Isle Of Wight and a dinosaur footprint was found at Lepe beach which is called the elephant beds because it has Pleistocene history there. That footprint was found on a mud slab, which is the same place I found mine just on a different beach and location.
It’s about 50/50 between horse and ornithopod, there’s evidence for both, and I can’t say for sure what it is.
