If this were a “Rock” it would be magnesium, felspar, or calcite! But it is not it is very light and has unusual uneven formations to be “rock”. Bring something to the table useful, or don’t come!!! #fossil

    • @avy-grey If you choose to read an insult or condescension into when someone on this app provides you with an ID or you take issue with the nomenclature of that ID that is your business. But the evidence you presented from your photos does not correspond to the characteristic traits of the minerals you have proposed as an ID. Neither does your supporting claims necessarily lead one to conclude that this is a fossil. The weight of a specimen does not determine whether or not it is a fossil. Also, erosion can shape rocks and minerals into some very convincing psuedo-fossils. From your photos, the specimen you have presented bears resemblance to a highly weathered piece of sedimentary rock such as limestone or a metamorphic rock like quartzite.

    • I’m a gemologist so “Rock” is not helpful!😂😂😂

    • Rock chert it’s a type of rock Indians used not rare but really cool

    • if it bothers you that much, you don’t have to worry now because you’ve just been provided with a more specific answer by Matthew. hope you’re more satisfied. 👍🏻

    • *rude*

    • Insulting people who try to help, even if what they say doesn’t help makes less people, including the ones who will help not want to respond to you.

    • Sounds like most people use this platform as a way to stroke their ego and really don’t know what they’re talking about anyway so me I’ll watch and all I see is a bunch of people saying if it doesn’t look exactly like a fossil meaning a horn coral or a shark tooth or like a pronounce skeleton and you really should think outside the box

    • you have some real personality issues. you keep assuming that everyone here has an overinflated ego and is trying to shut you down as an individual. you ask for a diagnosis? you were given a diagnosis. if you’re not happy with it, then you shouldn’t have bothered asking for it. don’t expect us to sugarcoat anything by saying Wow, you found a T Rex skull or something! if you found a rock, then sorry but you found a rock. no disrespect intended. attacking people just because it turns out that you didn’t find a fossil, and gave you a correct diagnosis, is simply going to make people lose respect in you.
