    Zac Coleman has contributed specimen mFeM 99258 to myFOSSIL!

    • Possible oyster or clam?? Not sure, very cool though

    • I have something similar! I think it’s just the way the quartz formed in time almost like it’s stretched out lol

    • There are different sections of one material (now white calcite) segmented by the other fossilized material that “nets” through it. Each section is segmented differently, but fairly evenly for that section. Definitely organic looking but with a lot of symmetry with the segments as well. Holes seems to wind throughout.

    • It looks completely different to all of the oyster and clam shells I’ve found in that area.

    • many rocks like quartz can have all sorts of quirky and geometrical patterns that can definitely seem like they were once from a living organism, but alas they’re not. they certainly make spectacular decorative pieces though.

    • This was found in an oyster bed in the desert. I can tell you it’s a fossil, just not what it is. Maybe it’s some sort of oyster I’m not familiar.
