2 years, 9 months ago2 years, 9 months agoI found this fossil claw by digging in the sand on shell island, Panana City Beach, FL. I thought it looks similar to an eagle talon. Does anyone know what it is?
Wouldn’t be able to tell the exact species but some species of raptor like the micro raptor and dromaeosaur were turkey sized, be fun to research,
Thank you. I was wondering if it possibly could be a small raptor claw.
This looks modern, and is probably not a fossil. Is it heavy or light?
Very light
It is hollow inside and very fragile
I am trying to add photos
I added more photos to the Florida fossil group.
If it’s light and hollow it is from a modern animal, and not a fossil. You can research animals that live in the area and try to find a match
Good to know. I will probably take it in some where any way. I found eagle talons that look similar. At first I thought it might be a sand shark tooth. But after looking at tons of photos the eagle talon looks most similar.
