FOSSIL UPLOAD
First, make sure you have a myFOSSIL account, this is required to upload your fossil information. If you are interested in seeing if your fossil can be used for research purposes, please follow through the following steps. They walk you through the information needed and why it is helpful for other scientists to use it for research questions. Even if the information you have on your fossil is not enough to be used for research purposes it will still benefit the community through educational means and help others identify their fossils. Specimens that have sufficient information will be uploaded to iDigBio and GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) for public accessibility.
If you have already gone through the stepwise process that explains each piece of data please click through to a summary tab where you can enter in your specimen data on a single page.

It does appear to be a bone, and the pattern of lines are very interesting. I would not be able to tell you anything for certain. It would help to say where you found it or maybe the age of the rocks in the area this is from. Without that, we can only guess about what it is.
Ok I am totally wrong. Old age is getting to me today. It is a calcaneus bone or ankle bone. Your heal in humans.
I hope I deleted the 3 prior post
Very possible for tooth marks. The end of the bone is missing so it could have been chewed off.
a-trilobite I’m Just beginner don’t known the time period but I was find there also some of marine fossil
James-preston I was looking a lots of pictures similar my find and only calcaneus bone was really similar
I’m thankful for yours comments
@a-trilobite hard say for me near is place with pliocene and other side also pleistocene this place is in the middle is near to Athens (Greece) in mountains I find there also some marine fossils., I’m not expert just only start now 🙂
It is probably from a modern deer. Well modern as in from human times. It doesn’t look fossilized but it does have the looks of it being exposed to the elements for a long time. Not at all familiar with the geology and wildlife of Greece.
@james-preston yes also is true I’m not sure if is fossilized but its so heavy compare with size,🙂
It’s possible it was a cave bear, but also could be wolf, hyena, dog, or another bear.
@James-Preston places where I found bone it’s about 15 km far from where lived 7-25 thousands years panthers ….sure is a little far from bone I found
No not really. I’ve found lots of bones from animals that no longer existed in the area I found them in.
