FOSSIL UPLOAD
First, make sure you have a myFOSSIL account, this is required to upload your fossil information. If you are interested in seeing if your fossil can be used for research purposes, please follow through the following steps. They walk you through the information needed and why it is helpful for other scientists to use it for research questions. Even if the information you have on your fossil is not enough to be used for research purposes it will still benefit the community through educational means and help others identify their fossils. Specimens that have sufficient information will be uploaded to iDigBio and GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) for public accessibility.
If you have already gone through the stepwise process that explains each piece of data please click through to a summary tab where you can enter in your specimen data on a single page.

Beautiful specimen @jim-barkley! Any chance you know the nearest town to where this was collected?
I think the nearest town would be Delta, UT, but it would over 50 miles away. Lots of country between towns out there!
Certainly big county out there @jim-barkley! Is there any way you could use Google Maps to get GPS coordinates that more closely relate to the location? I’m just trying to think of ways to more accurately record location so that we can mark this as research grade. Thanks!
Hi @jim-barkley. Just wanted to clarify the location so we can ensure it’s accurate before marking this as research grade. It looks to me , based on the location of Antelope Springs, that the site would be 69 miles north, not west, of Delta. Is that correct?
@Sean Moran no, it is 69 mi west, north of US 50. You’ve been looking at google. Get a topo sheet, pg 35, loc A5, Utah Atlas and Gazetteer.
