FOSSIL UPLOAD
First, make sure you have a myFOSSIL account, this is required to upload your fossil information. If you are interested in seeing if your fossil can be used for research purposes, please follow through the following steps. They walk you through the information needed and why it is helpful for other scientists to use it for research questions. Even if the information you have on your fossil is not enough to be used for research purposes it will still benefit the community through educational means and help others identify their fossils.Ā Specimens that have sufficient information will be uploaded to iDigBio and GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) for public accessibility.
If you have already gone through the stepwise process that explains each piece of data please click through to a summary tab where you can enter in your specimen data on a single page.

It might also be a sponge (Porifera).
That makes more sense 🤦🏼♀️
Hi, @Becky-Honey! Could you post a clearer photo and perhaps more photos from different angles?
Yes I will post more tomorrow in the day light 😁
@samantha-ocon how do I add more pics? Do I have to make separate posts?
Hi, @Becky-Honey, if you click the tab that says images when viewing the specimen from a computer, you should be taken to a page that allows you to add more photos. Let me know if you have any other issues; also, if you go ahead and google “Favosites” does that seem to match the pattern inside?
@samantha-ocon did you see I added pics? I did look up favosites and they do look similar. I plan to cut the rock open so maybe then I can get a better look 👀
I see them, @Becky-Honey! I look forward to seeing what is inside this specimen!
@samantha-ocon did you see my new post of what my son found today in the creek? Check it out and tell me if you think it is a Favosite please and thanks you 😁
