FOSSIL UPLOAD
First, make sure you have a myFOSSIL account, this is required to upload your fossil information. If you are interested in seeing if your fossil can be used for research purposes, please follow through the following steps. They walk you through the information needed and why it is helpful for other scientists to use it for research questions. Even if the information you have on your fossil is not enough to be used for research purposes it will still benefit the community through educational means and help others identify their fossils. Specimens that have sufficient information will be uploaded to iDigBio and GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) for public accessibility.
If you have already gone through the stepwise process that explains each piece of data please click through to a summary tab where you can enter in your specimen data on a single page.

awesome trackways
It was such a cool spot and just down a dirt road with a fence around it. A very fun place indeed! They had some pretty awesome signs that taught a lot of different stuff too! I tried to include them but the app crops too aggressively for vertical photos. Oh well!
I love deadhorse. There’s another trackways site just north of town, you have to walk to bike in but it’s a much larger expanse and gorgeous scenery.
I’ll definitely have to visit next time!!
sooooooooooo want to visit there!
the day l head for America…… my first destination
and you can work your way around the photo cropping problem with some simple trickery
Dreamhouse- beachfront property in Dorset England aka the Jurassic coast.
Dream-find a new species of something and have it named after me
Fun fact when classifying a new species it can not be named after any of the authors, however you can name it after anyone else even imaginary people! So there are lord of the rings, Harry Potter, and so on species
Yep, or you can make puns. For example, there is a species of tiny frog and its scientific name is Mini ature.
Could you name it after your dad or someone with the same last name?
@a-trilobite absolutely! it can be anything! even random gibberish if you want, or a joke, or a fictional character
there is a shark with the genus name Gollum
and a pachycephalosaur named Dracorex Hogwartsia
dragon king of Hogwarts
Robert Bakker named a megalosaur after Mr Ed the talking horse
@a-trilobite wait, but they might find out that you’re trying to sneak your name in there
your best option if you want your name in the animal is if a friend of yours finds a new species and names it after you
or name it after a person you love to gain their heart
@leonardo-Miranda I feel like people who find things should be able to call them what they want
If you could name species after your self it could lead to bad science where people are just making up differences in species so they can name it after themselves
I get it. But still a cool thought
