FOSSIL UPLOAD
First, make sure you have a myFOSSIL account, this is required to upload your fossil information. If you are interested in seeing if your fossil can be used for research purposes, please follow through the following steps. They walk you through the information needed and why it is helpful for other scientists to use it for research questions. Even if the information you have on your fossil is not enough to be used for research purposes it will still benefit the community through educational means and help others identify their fossils. Specimens that have sufficient information will be uploaded to iDigBio and GBIF (Global Biodiversity Information Facility) for public accessibility.
If you have already gone through the stepwise process that explains each piece of data please click through to a summary tab where you can enter in your specimen data on a single page.

some type of invertebrate
probably trilobite
Fossil worms don’t look 3D like that because they don’t have any hard body parts. They’ll often be a flat impression. Also not a trilobite, wrong shape. However, I have no idea WHAT that is. Sorry!
@chloe-geddes l was thinking it could be a trilobite because it looks almost identical to the rear half of Bumastus, or the illaenidae family. you can search them up and give me your opinion on the matter, as I’m not completely certain.
thanks. I willl check it up.
@leonardo-miranda I have been looking at the bumastus trilobite like you suggested and I see what you mean. However I still don’t see the trilobite shape. This is what I see: The ribbed part, the thorax, is not suppose to be a cylinder like the sample above for a trilobite. A trilobite thorax will generally have an axial ring (the center part) w…[Read more]
l understand what you mean, @chloe-geddes ! XD it’s complicated to give long lectures on a post. l was also just showing a personal thought, and noticed that the thorax is rather too long. as for the spines and axial rings, either bumastus or some of the illaenids had no indent visible, so they looked like cylinders, or at least half a cylinder as…[Read more]
I have been looking into it, and it seems to be a Paralejurus trilobite.
I don’t know much about fossils! lol.Only started a while ago.
I’m glad that you have started! Fossils are incredible!
