Mygatt-Moore One Day Dig

July 16, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

A full day for beginners of all ages. Experience paleontology field work at the Mygatt-Moore Quarry digging for dinosaur bones, teeth, and plants in the Jurassic badlands of Western Colorado. Our paleontologists will make sure you have all the training and tools you need. Fossil bones of the giant Apatosaurus and the flesh-eating theropod, Allosaurus, are common in the quarry. This trip ends with a guided tour of the Paleo Lab at Dinosaur Journey. Water and Gatorade will be provided on site along with a picnic lunch.

No hiking is required on this expedition, but participants should expect to be outside, in the heat and bugs, working on open, rocky ground. We will provide some shade tarps.

Minimum age: 5 (Guests ages 16 or under must be accompanied by a paying adult participant.)

$140/Participant

This is a BOGO dig. Buy one adult ticket for $140, get one child ticket for $85. These are available only by phone. Please call 970.242.0971, ext. 2206 to reserve.
