Thank you very much for the feedback. I appreciate your expertise. The smooth quality of the underside and the inside of the chambers just seemed too unlikely if the specimen was actually organic shell material that had been floating around in the ocean for any period of time.
I do have another specimen that I found a couple of days ago that I’m still trying to identify before posting it. I don’t want to not learn on how to get through the ID phase, and just rely on/lean on posting pics and asking. Doesn’t seem nearly as meaningful.
