Can you identify this fossil?

This was found along the shoreline of Lake Mohave, NV which is part of the Colorado River system.

it’s is approximately 2.25” by 1.85” wide and similar in shape like an offset teardrop. I have more pictures to define if helpful.

Is this familiar to anyone?

Unfortunately, I do not think this is a fossil, but it is an interesting rock. The ends seem to be layers of calcite crystals, with perhaps a carbonate mudstone in between. The odd shape would be a result of differential weathering between the calcite and the mudstone.
