This is awesome, @jeanette-pirlo!  How did the attendance numbers turn out?  Did you run out of fossils in the screen wash  and dig area?  Will Jeff Gage be posting photos on the FLMNH Facebook? 🙂

Turn out was fantastic! We had over 2400 participants, and over 20 volunteers for our fossil dig, screen wash, and information table, which was a new record for Can You Dig It?!  We nearly ran out of fossils at both activities, but luckily, all participants went home happy with a baggy full of fossils!  We had many participants visit us at our PaleoBio Information Table.  One of our visitors even had a fossil identified by our talented Invertebrate Paleontologist, Roger Portell.  The gentleman had collected the specimen years ago, and had been unable to identify it until he came out to Can You Dig It?  He was very excited to finally know what he had (a nautilus!) after waiting for so long!  Jeff Gage has posted some pictures of the event on the museum Facebook page.  You should go check them out!
