Mike Williams,  AFM Friends member, and I were doing a little fossil hunting in the Summerville area, and he found this interesting tooth.  It is about 2.5 inches in length and black in color (overexposed photo).  It appears to be a little too long and curved for Crock and it does not quite look robust enough to be whale, though I am leaning to the smaller whale side of the issue.  I’d love to hear from any member who might be able to help.  Bobby Boessenecker –   if you are online, I think that you might be able to add some insight to this specimen’s ID.  Thanks.

Second photo is too blurry to see anything.

    Could you post more pictures?

    Thx

From what I can see, it does look like a whale tooth…

I am attaching a photo of a whale tooth in my collection from the phosphate pits of “Bone Valley” FL (Around Polk and Hardee counties) for comparison.

Not all whale teeth are “robust”
