    Tetraodontidae: Having four teeth

Tetraodontidae is the family of pufferfish.  This family is aptly named for the four fused teeth plates that these fish use to crush mollusks.  Because teeth preserve so well, the teeth plates of long dead specimens can be found in fossil beds like at Montbrook. @catherine-mueller found this beautiful specimen this past June.
