18 million years ago #fossil-
Nice but It’s impossible because the ammonites are 65 millions years old max then 18 millions years old is impossible
-
Thanks for your tips
The theory that ammonites died out with the dinosaurs in the Cretaceous extinction may be true, but specimens of ammonites have been found that probably date back 17 million years.
In the place where I live, there are many such fossils, but there are surprisingly intact ones -
Then there are maybe nautilus because they survived After the extinction of Dinosaurs, ammonites,…
-
Since my fossil has a smoother surface and healthier keratin, you may be right

-
@james-baugh Right!! Thanks!!
-
Is this in a museum? I’d like to visit
-
@aiden-gore I definitely thought it was real but I’m no expert so thanks for your help!
-
@aiden-gore It can be found in the Tumbler Riidge Museum in BC.
-
It’s still incredible! Do you remember the size?
-
@james-baugh No I don’t. Took so many pics. that day! Can post a couple more fossils from this cool museum if interested though.
-
That would be awesome! I would love that.
-
Just a cast they wouldn’t have the real one on display most likely not
-
@aiden-gore Makes sense. Thanks Aiden😊
-
No problem they probably keep the real ones in the back to do research on them and puts casts up front for people to see

Sorry @jaqui-zehr this looks like a piece of limestone. Bone would show some porosity. However, the object on the right looks like it could be a crinoid stem and is a fossil.

Hi @lori-smith Which Putnam County are you referring to? There are Putnam Counties in 9 different US states. I would also recommend posting this in the “What Is It?” group instead since you are trying to get ID help. The one in the center and the one on the bottom right are cephalopods.

Josh this one is not a fossil. Just a nice looking stone. The “blood” could indicate that this is posdibly some jasper. Do yourself a favour and check on Google images.
