3 years, 6 months ago3 years, 6 months agoHello, I just joined the group and want to know if anyone here does sculpture with clay or similar medium. I started with no experience and have been at it for a few years. Here’s a Metoicoceras I’ve been working on for a while. It still needs work. My pieces are more for learning how to work the medium than anything else at this tim…[Read more]

@a-trilobite they lust for your blue blood
-
They look so innocent though-
-
That’s how you know they’ll devour you in your sleep…. superpredators they are.
-
There’s even one waving at us! XD ….. terrifying terror of the deep
-
Oh no…. THEY’RE COMING! Ahhhh
-
XD
-
Did trilobites have blue blood? I know that horseshoe crabs did, and that they’re close relatives, but did they? And also why blue?
-
@a-trilobite there’s no way of knowing their blood colour. l just assumed that they could have blue blood like the horseshoe crabs. the blood is blue due to copper l think?
-
@a-trilobite and fun fact, horseshoe crabs look similar to trilobites, but were actually unrelated. horseshoe crabs are close relatives of the sea scorpions actually. they are both in the Merostomata group
-
Wow I feel dumb now.
-
@a-trilobite XD XD no fuss man. l myself only found that out like a month ago. l was as surprised as you
-

3 years, 6 months ago3 years, 6 months agoI was recently watching a TV series and they said that cerotopsians actually used there frills not to protect the neck but yo tell the different species apart. This is because of how thin the frill is. Does anyone agree or diaggree?
-
It is true that they were thin and used to recognize each other, however they were also like the frills of boa snakes, used to flash and intimidate predators and threats. They would make them look larger and stronger and could fill with blood to give them more color, like a stegosaurus’ dorsal plates. It’s also believed that carnivores loved to…[Read more]

Also what tv series? I’m always looking for new documentaries
-
l agree they weren’t for defence. not only were they too thin, but they also started developing late, when it should be in the young stages of their lives that they need the most protection. More importantly, rach species had a wildly different frill and horn arrangement, which wouldn’t make sense from a defensive point of view in which they would…[Read more]
