Echinoid?
-
a heart urchin
-
actually no, a brachiopod
-
realy i just collect some fossil but i dont have experience
-
yep, it’s a large brachiopod shell
-
Bivalve, not a brachiopod. Each valve of a bivalve is symmetrical to each other. In brachiopods, there would be a brachial valve and pedicle valve that are not identical to each other.

unless it’s an oyster @patrick-hsieh

gastropods and brachiopods
-
I see bivalves, not sure I see a brachiopod. Both valves are symmetrical, and if you look at an individual valve, it is not bilaterally symmetrical. That would be the case if it were a brachiopod.
-
@patrick-hsieh you are right, but the shells still look rather strange for a bivalve. the shape is very brachiopod like, despite symmetrical shells
-
@leonardo-miranda Which feature looks brachiopod like?
-
@patrick-hsieh l was noticing the extreme rotundity of the shell, and the back of the shell that hooks over. nevertheless, it’s a bivalve, you’re right
